Meet Kamegu, she is 10 years old.
Kamegu lived with her mother and father. After her father passed, her mother struggled to sustain her and her siblings. One day whilst she was at school someone came to inform her of her mother's passing and she was brought to Hope For Joy orphanage. Her siblings' whereabouts are unknown.
Meet Shaliya, she is 10 years old.
After Shaliya's parents passed she went to live with her grandmother, who later passed and officials took her to the probation office to be placed at the orphanage.
Meet Zeedi, he is 5 years old.
Zeedi's mother had him very young and the father left. Later his mother sent him to his grandmother. The grandmother states that his mother is dead but she may not be.
The grandmother couldn't sustain him and sent him to officials for orphanage placing.
Meet Patricia, she is 5 years old.
After her parents died she was taken by officials for orphanage placing.
Meet Hawa, she is 7 years old.
After Hawa's parents died she went to stay with her grandmother who later couldn't maintain her, so she called officials to put her into the orphanage.
Meet Ukacha, he is 5 years old.
After Ukacha's parents died, he went to stay with his great aunt. She is an older lady and later was unable to sustain him.
She contacted officials to place him at the orphanage.
Meet Saleh, he is 10 years old.
Saleh lived with his mother, grandmother and siblings. His father was absent and negligent. When his mother died the grandmother couldn't look after him and took him to be placed at the orphanage.
Meet Brian, he is 7 years old.
After Brian's parents died he was taken for placing at the orphanage by officials.
Meet Sharukhan, he is 9 years old.
Sharukhan's mother died during childbirth (Sharukhan was 7 years old at the time) and his father was
negligent and a drunk. He was a street child for months before officials found him and took him to be placed in the orphanage.
Meet Ali, he is 5 years old.
Ali lived with his parents then his father passed. His mother sustained him and his siblings with a mobile clothes vending business. Later she died and officials took him to be placed at the orphanage.
Meet Patience, she is 11 years old.
Patience lived with her parents near the lake. After her parents passed her great aunt who was aged tried to raise her and her siblings but couldn't, so they took them for orphanage placing.
Patience now has an adopted father who adopted her in April 2019.
Meet Prem, he is 9 years old.
Prem was raised by his father. His mother was a teenager when she gave birth and ran away when Prem was a few months old. His father passed away and Prem became a street child until officials found him and took him to the orphanage.
Meet Travour, he is 9 years old.
Travour lived with both parents until they divorced. They remarried and left him with his grandmother who later died. His parents didn't want him and he was taken to the orphanage.
Meet Doreen, she is 6 years old.
After Doreen's parents passed, she went to live with her grandmother. Later her grandmother passed and officials took her to the orphanage.
Meet Amiri, he is 12 years old.
Amiri lived with both parents, his mother died then his father died and he was taken in by his uncle.
He was the youngest and needed the most out of all the siblings. His uncle was negligent and an outreach program saw Amiri's condition and took him to be placed in an orphanage due to neglect.
Meet Swaliki, he is 11 years old.
Swaliki lived with both his parents until his father was murdered in a robbery. When the thieves were arrested, during the court proceedings his mother said she didn't want him, so he was taken to the probation office for placing at the orphanage.
Meet Hellen, she is 12 years old.
Hellen's parents were jobless so they sent her to stay with her aunt. The aunt mistreated her and made her the housemaid. Once Hellen's parents passed away, her aunt kicked her out and she became a street child. Officials found her and took her to the probation office to be put into the care of the orphanage.
Meet Everlyn, she is 5 years old.
After Everlyn's father died her mother remarried and left her. Officials took her to be placed at the orphanage.
Meet Abubakar, he is 13 years old.
Abubakar lived with his parents. One day his father had a land dispute with his brother and mysteriously died a few days after. His mother remarried and left him. He was a street child until officials found him and placed him at the orphanage.
Meet Shakul, he is 9 years old.
Shakul lived with his mother and father. His mother passed and later his father got lost at sea whilst fishing. His uncle took him in but couldn't sustain him and sent him back to the village. The villagers couldn't look after him either and sent him back to his uncle.
His uncle then reported the case and officials took him to be placed at the orphanage.
Meet Phiona, she is 8 years old.
After Phiona's mother died her father refused to take care of her and left. Officials then took her for orphanage placing.
Meet Shifra, she is 4 years old.
After Shifra's parents died she was taken by officials to the orphanage.
Meet Haija, she is 13 years old.
Haija grew up in the village. Her father sustained her and her siblings. When he died, her mother travelled a lot and left her children. Haija's siblings split and she was left alone. Later she found her mother had died and she was brought to the orphanage.
Meet Alaisa, she is 10 years old.
Alaisa lived with her mother and father until they seperated. The father then became negligent and refused to support his children.
The mother sustained them until she died and she was brought to the orphanage. Her father is still alive but doesn't want to support his children. He also drinks heavily.
Meet Asa, she is 6 years old.
When Asa's father died, her mother remarried. Her new husband abused Asa. Outreach programmes came to find out what happened and took her to be placed in the orphanage.
Meet Chukrat, she is 4 years old.
After Chukrat's parents passed away she was picked up by officials and taken into care of the orphanage.
Meet Bwande, she is 8 years old.
After Bwande's mother and father died, she went to stay with her aunt who one day left her alone for good. Officials found her and took her to the orphanage.
Meet Mastula, she is 11 years old.
Mastula lived with her parents before her father died. Her mother remarried and left to live in the west side of the country, leaving her children.
Mastula became a street child until officials found her and took her for orphanage placing.
Meet Hanifa, she is 9 years old.
Hanifa lived with both parents before they passed. She was taken in by negligent relatives who kicked her out not long after. She was a street child until officials found her and placed her at the orphanage.
Meet Shatra, she is 7 years old.
After her father died, her mother died shortly after from pressure and heartache.
Officials placed her in orphanage care.
Meet Unice, she is 5 years old.

Meet Nabirye, she is 8 years old.
After Nabirye's parents passed she stayed with her aunt. One day her aunt left and didn't take her. She was then a street child until officials took her for orphanage placing.
Meet Shakira, she is 11 years old.
Shakira lived with her mother and father on family land. That is how they sustained themselves. Once her parents died, her elder brother took over the house and kicked the children out. She was a street child for a month before being placed at the orphanage.
Meet Afizu, he is 4 years old.
Afizu's father died but his mother is still alive. She remarried and left him. He was placed in the orphanage by officials.
Meet Patricia, she is 8 years old.

Meet Abudala, she is 5 years old.
After Abudala's parents passed away she was taken to the probation office for orphanage placing.
Meet Timothy, he is 8 years old.
Timothy lived with his mother and father before his mother passed. After, his father (who was also a young orphan), went to live at the orphanage. His father is Sande (see the orphanage staff page).
Timothy and his father were later adopted by Adiagha Abiyah and Lael (Azariah).
They are now taken care of by their adoptive parents in the UK.

Meet Zahara, she is 9 years old.
After Zahara's parents died she went to stay with her grandmother but she couldn't maintain her so she called officials to place Zahara at the orphanage.
